Two sub specie of Impala occur in the Mount Etjo area, namely the Common Impala, which range are throughout Southern Africa, and the Black Faced Impala, which only occur in Namibia and Southern Angola.
Impala are very numerous in the Okonjati Wildlife Sanctuary and are seen almost everywhere in great numbers.
