Aardvarks occur throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, but are very rarely seen, as they are nocturnal.
They can weigh up to 80 kg (175 lbs.) and have a long tongue (30 cm/12 in.) with which they collect food, from holes they dig with their massive claws.
The main diet of Aardvarks consists of Termites and Ants.
At Mount Etjo, Aardvarks are more commonly seen in dry seasons, as their food source are more scarce and they spend a longer time satisfying their appetite.
